Submitting to Sauron

In this course, you should submit your assignment solutions using Sauron, a Web application developed by a Hendrix student specifically for our computer science program. Follow these steps to submit your assignment.

1. If you haven't already, register as a new user at sauron.cs.hendrix.edu by going to the main page and clicking the link You don't know me yet; I'm new! Use your Hendrix e-mail ID (normally last name followed by two initials). Do not use your regular password, as whatever you type will be transmitted unencrypted over the Internet. And don't forget your password!

   Later on, you'll be able to log into your user account on Sauron at sauron.cs.hendrix.edu.

2. You should now see the main Sauron page. If this is your first time to submit an assignment for the course, you will need first to subscribe to the course you are taking. Click on the + tab at top, and click on the subscribe! link next to Computing Systems Organization.

3. You should now see CSO listed among the tabs at the top of your Web page. Click on this tab whenever to view assignments for CSO.

4. Click on the assignment to which you want to submit a solution.

5. Click the Choose File button and navigate to the file you want to submit.

   You should now see the new files listed under the assignment under Your submitted files. You can click the glasses icon to view the contents of each individual file (assuming it is a text file). This will open a page showing the file in a new tab, which you can close to go back to the main Sauron page.

   If later you decide you wish to upload a revised version of the file, click the icon of a hand writing into a red book, and select the new file you wish to upload into its place.

6. If you worked on a team with somebody on this assignment, click the Join a team? link under the assignment. Drag your teammate from the right side onto the left side and click OK. Note: Your teammate will need to have registered on Sauron previously, and your teammate will need to have subscribed to this course.

   If your teammmate has already submitted the solution to Sauron and indicated that you are on the same team, you have nothing else to do. Still, you can log onto Sauron and view the files that have been submitted on your behalf.

7. Log out once you are done by clicking logout in bottom of the Assignments page or the main page.
