A number of Randy?s songs appear in major motion pictures or TV. His song ?Millennium? was performed live on ABC as part of their millennium 2000 coverage. His composition ?Circle of Friends? was the closing theme of the 1992 Democratic Convention. ?Reunion? was the theme for President Bill Clinton?s First Inaugural Gala and ?Together, As One?, a duet for Kenny Rogers and Trisha Yearwood, was featured in the 1996 Inaugural Gala of President Clinton.

 

Andrea Anderson Gluckman ?96 ? International Affairs Work ? Global Awareness

Andrea served as the Executive Director/CEO of the University of the Middle East Project, an independent non-profit and non-governmental organization whose objective is to provide opportunities for higher education for all the people and communities of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). UME's ultimate goal is to create a system of interconnected academic centers throughout the MENA region. Ms. Anderson received her Masters Degree from Harvard University where she studied the intersection of policy and religion in the Middle East.  She completed a Harvard Sheldon Traveling Research Fellowship, in which she researched the various transitional justice infrastructures of South Africa and Rwanda for their potential viability in the Middle East. She is a lecturer in political science at the University of Rochester and co-authored ?Analyzing the Arab-Israeli Conflict: A Critical Approach,? published in Fall 2009. She is also a senior fellow with the Initiative for Middle East Policy Dialogue and a principal with Ishtirak.

 

George Gleason ?74 ? Chairman & CEO, Bank of the Ozarks ? Professional and Leadership Development

 

At age 25, with no previous banking experience, Gleason bought a bank.  Over thirty years later, the Little Rock based Bank of the Ozarks boasts 73 branches in Arkansas, as well as fledgling outposts in North Carolina and Texas and new branches keep coming at a rate of roughly one per month.  Gleason's organization now claims the fifth largest share of the Arkansas banking market, and among Arkansas-chartered banks it had the second largest share in 2005. At the end of the first quarter 2005, Bank of the Ozarks reported $1.797 billion in assets, $1.394 billion in deposits and $1.176 billion in loans.  Long known as an overachiever, Gleason completed his undergraduate degree at Hendrix College in only two years. Three years later, he graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville School of Law first in his class and promptly wrote the top paper on the summer 1977 Arkansas bar examination.  Today his community interests inspire him to serve on the board of directors for the Arkansas Arts Center and Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce as well as devoting a major share of his volunteer time to ministry work. In 2005, Gleason and the Bank of the Ozarks were heavily involved with the Run for Their Lives 5K run and walk.

 

Steven W. Barger ?87 ? Associate Professor of Geriatrics, Anatomy & Neurobiology, and Internal Medicine, UAMS -- Research

 

Dr. Barger is an Associate Professor of Geriatrics, Anatomy & Neurobiology, and Internal Medicine at UAMS Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging. After receiving his Ph.D. in 1992, Dr. Barger began a postdoctoral fellowship at the Sanders-Brown Center on Aging at the University of Kentucky, where he received an award from the French Foundation for Alzheimer's Research and a National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Research Service Award. In 1995, he became an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and Anatomy at UAMS and was named the first recipient of the Inglewood Fellowship for Alzheimer's research. Dr. Barger received the annual research award from the Neurosciences Education and Research Foundation in 1999. He currently holds three NIH-sponsored grants, sits on the editorial board of three scientific journals, and serves on the 'Clinical Neuroscience and Brain Tumors' grant review panel for the NIH Cn
